Forty-two ex-officials of this camp were tried by a U.S. military court at Dachau, All were found guilty, Thirty-Six of the defendants were sentenced to death on December 13, 1945, of whom 23 were hanged on the May 28-29, 1946, including the commandant, Martin Weiss and the camp doctor Karl Schilling, the rest to various terms of imprisonment.
