In the second of the Mauthausen trials, eight ex-officials of the camp were tried by a U.S. military court at Dachau from August 6, 1947, to August 21, 1947. Seven were found guilty, and one was acquitted. Four were sentenced to death and executed, the remainder were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.
