Nazi War Crimes Trials: Essen Lynching Trial

(December 18-22, 1945)

Seven defendants convicted in Case No.8 (The "Essen Lynching" Trial), which was held before a British Military Court at Essen, from December 18-22, 1945. Five were found guilty and two were sentenced to death, two were acquitted and released. Those sentenced to death were executed on March 8, 1946.
