The Palestinian Authority: December 31 2014 Announcement
On December 31 2014 the Palestinian Authority announced their intention to join a wide variety of international organizations and become signatories to a number of treaties in a bid to legitimize themselves in the eyes of the international community. The list of organizations and treaties that the Palestinian Authority is looking to join includes the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and the UN Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon approved the Palestinians requests to join these organizations and treaties on January 6 2015.
