Israel Defense Forces: General Staff

To maintain a professional, efficient, and precise army, a forum of senior commanders, known as the General Staff, leads the Israel Defense Forces. Heading the forum is the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi; he is the commander of the army. Under him are 24 major generals and brigadier generals who are responsible for the different branches and departments of the IDF.
