This is a discussion of the Jewish and Arab reaction to British proposals that would ultimately be contained in Churchill's 1939 White Paper. The Jews objected to the idea of a unitary state controlled by the Arabs, the limit placed on Jewish immigration to Palestine and the Arab control over immigration.
