Young woman who was an assistant worker to Reichenberg, sub-camp Gross Rosen. Green cover with large eagle and swastika, photograph, entries and stampings. These books are from document and material archives of the former Soviet Union and were used for identification in the trials after the war. When the Nazis took over a town, they put these people into work camps (concentration camps) and they became slave workers. If they refused work they were killed. After 1945, most survivors destroyed their workbooks to escape forced return to Russia where they were considered traitors. Stalin made everyone turn in their workbooks ,then had them killed for working for the Nazis. |
