André Wormser

WORMSER, ANDRÉ (Alphonse Toussaint; 1851–1926), composer. Born in Paris, Wormser won the Rome Prize in 1872 for the cantata Clytemnestre. He composed successful operas, orchestral and choral works, piano pieces, and songs. His best-known composition is the pantomine "wordless opera," L'Enfant prodigue (1890).
