Moshe Smoira
(1888 - 1961)
Moshe Smoira was Israel's first Supreme Court president. He was born to a Hasidic family in Prussia. He served in the German army during World War I and settled in Palestine in 1922. He headed the Supreme Court from 1948 to 1954.
