Israel Included in Internet-2 Project
The United States has decided to include Israel in the Internet2 project, a consortium of academic research centers, high-tech companies and government agencies working to create a new, faster information highway. The new superhighway will be based on 20-30 superservers, which enable rapid communications at 2.4 gigabits per second. On this bases, new applications will be developed such as remote medicine, virtual libraries, real time group work and more.
