IDF Counter-terrorism: Lotar
The Lotar counter-terrorism school is a multi-faceted counter-terrorism program for IDF soldiers, taught by IDF military experts. The program has four specializations, including sniper school, general counter-terrorism, underground and special combat, and shooting. Robitics, climbing , rapelling, rescuing, and breaching, are all taught to students in the underground and special combat program. Students in the general counterterrism program are trained in dealing with hostage and active shooter situations, and special soldiers referred to as monkeys,
are taught to handle risky, high-altitude operations. Each training program takes from two to seventeen months to complete, with the monkeys
specialty training taking the longest.
