Building Bridges : About the Sponsor

The Abraham Fund is a not-for-profit fundraising and educational organization established to enhance coexistence, specifically through funding and promoting Jewish-Arab coexistence programs in Israel.

Named for the revered patriarch of two great peoples, Jews and Arabs, through his offspring, Isaac and Ishmael, The Abraham Fund helps reconcile the children of Abraham while ensuring the integrity and maintaining the continuity of both their identities and heritages. Adhering to ideology neither left nor right, The Abraham Fund strives to find common ground amongst all Israeli citizens.

In cultural and community centers, hospitals and clinics, schools and universities, Jews and Arabs are working together sometimes quietly, behind the scenes, sometimes out front, in public view to develop and implement programs and enterprises that enhance mutual understanding, fight stereotyping, increase tolerance and acceptance, and promote national civility.

Enhancing Jewish-Arab coexistence in Israel has proven to be viable, effective and essential to Israel's security and stability. Coexistence can be learned, practiced and put into effect by caring, courageous people working with trained specialists in the field. One by one, person by person, project by project, The Abraham Fund is helping to ensure a democratic society and secure a stable future. In Israel, a country rich in culture, tradition, history and diversity, coexistence is the only alternative.

Founded in 1989, The Abraham Fund is registered as a not-for-profit organization IRS 501(c)(3) and as a public charity IRS 509(a)(2) in the United States and New York State. The Abraham Fund also enjoys tax-exempt status in Canada and Israel.
