In this trial, before a U.S. military tribunal at Dachau,
from the 11th April 1947 to the 14th August 1947, Thirty-one members
of the staff of the Buchenwald
camp were found guilty of atrocities and twenty-two were sentenced to
death, eight being subsequently commutted, the rest to various terms
of imprisonment. Twelve of the defendents were executed on various dates.
