Truman Opposes Jewish Army

Peter Bergson’s Committee for a Jewish Army of Stateless and Palestinian Jews proposed the creation of a Jewish army. In this letter to Rep. Andrew Somers, then Senator Harry Truman expresses his opposition to the idea and belief that American Jews serve in the U.S. military.
