Truman Angered By Bergson Ad

Peter Bergson placed an ad in the New York Times on May 4, 1943, with the headline, “To 5,000,000 Jews in the Nazi Death-Trap Bermuda Was a ‘Cruel Mockery’”and the signatures of a number of senators who apparently did not give their permission for their names to be used. Senator Truman writes to Bergson expressing his continuing support for the cause but objection to his misuse of senators’s names.
