John Hans Krebs

(1926 - )

John Hans Krebs is a Jewish American politician and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Krebs (born December 17, 1926) was born in Berlin, Germany and moved to Israel in 1933. He graduated high school in Israel and then immigrated to America in 1946 and obtained United States citizenship in 1954. He recieved his A.B. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1950 and his LL.B. from the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1957. Krebs served in United States Army from 1952 to 1954.

From 1965 to 1969, Krebs was a member of the Fresno County Planning Commission, and he served on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors from 1970-1974. Krebs was elected as a Democrat to represent California's 17th district in November 1974 and was re-elected to the post once, in 1976. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1978.
