Israel Participates in NATO Medical Exercise

The flagship for the December 2018 NATO “MEDEX Crystal Sea” exercise conducted a medical response exercise with the Israeli Navy corvette INS Eilat. The exercise was designed to develop medical support around the Mediterranean. During the exercise, a simulated fire on a Greek frigate required three injured sailors to be given first aid and transferred to the INS Eilat. The Israeli ship, which has the capability to conduct surgery aboard, received, evaluated and treated the sailors according to their injuries.
