Intercepted Spanish Cable Regarding Request to Help Jews in Budapest

(October 20, 1944)

Intercepted Spanish diplomatic cable from the Ambassador to Washington, Cardenas de Silva, to Madrid that reports the request from the Jewish World Committee for the Spanish delegation in Budapest to intervene on behalf of the endangered Jews. It also mentions that Sweden is sending Raoul Wallenberg to offer documents of protection.
