3,300-Year old Amulet Found in Galilee (June 2016) A group of 10th grade students participating in an excavation as part of an infrastructure project in the Galilee discovered an Egyptian amulet dating back 3,300 years in early June, 2016. Egyptian archaeology professionals at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem identified the item as a scarab amulet, from the rule of Ramses in the 19th Egyptian dynasty. The discovery was made during excavations in preparation for a new road. The students, from ORT Kiryat Bialik high school, were credited with the discovery.
