Tom Rose

(? - )

Thomas (Tom) Rose is a Jewish-American figure with diverse media, business, and political backgrounds. He is mainly known for his close ties to former Vice President Mike Pence and his involvement in conservative politics.

Rose’s career includes a significant period in the media industry, notably as the publisher and CEO of The Jerusalem Post from June 1997 to June 2005. Later, he transitioned into political commentary, writing for Breitbart as a senior contributing editor and co-hosting the Bauer & Rose show on Sirius/XM satellite radio. He has also been involved in newspaper investments and consulting for private equity firms after leaving government work in 2021. He is the author of Big Miracle

His political involvement deepened through his friendship with Mike Pence, beginning around 1990. Rose served as a senior advisor to Pence and was considered part of his inner circle. He shares with Pence an interest in the security of Israel. Rose is an Orthodox Jew who wears a kippah. Rose has emphasized Pence’s support for Israel as a lasting achievement of the Trump-Pence administration and played a role in Pence’s 2018 Knesset address, which Rose considered a landmark pro-Zionist speech.

In August 2021, Rose commented on Pence’s potential political future, noting that Pence was keeping his options open, including potentially running for president in 2024. Rose speculated that Pence would likely not run against Donald Trump in a primary. He acknowledged that Pence’s role in certifying the 2020 election results could be contentious.

On February 7, 2025, Rose’s career took a new turn when President Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate him as the U.S. Ambassador to Poland. If confirmed, Rose expressed his commitment to serving the interests of the United States.

Regarding foreign policy, Rose is critical of Poland’s liberal governing coalition. In January 2025, he strongly condemned Tusk’s threat to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu under an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant should Netanyahu enter Poland. Rose cautioned Tusk, saying, “Threatening to arrest the Prime Minister of the Jewish State at Auschwitz... of all places... does not go unnoticed by the USA. Poland deserves better!” He later praised Polish President Andrzej Duda for preventing a diplomatic crisis and reversing this decision.
