Max Miller

(1988 - )

Max Leonard Miller is a Jewish U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 7th Congressional District. He was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, on November 13, 1988. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Cleveland State University.

Miller enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and reached the corporal rank. He got his start in politics working on Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign and later for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Miller then served in several roles in the Trump administration, including deputy assistant to the president and advance director in the Office of the President, associate director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, and confidential assistant with the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He also served as deputy campaign manager on Trump’s 2020 campaign.

In 2022, Miller ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Ohio’s 7th Congressional District. He sat on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. During the 118th Congress (2023-2024), Miller served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Environment on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. He also sat on the Subcommittee on Energy and the Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight on this committee. On the House Agriculture Committee, Miller was a member of the Subcommittee on Nutrition, Foreign Agriculture, and Horticulture and the Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development.

Miller won re-election to the U.S. House to represent Ohio’s 7th Congressional District in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Miller is a member of the Congressional Jewish Caucus. He has been a vocal advocate for protecting American Jews following a rise in anti-Semitic incidents after the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. Miller has consistently advocated for increased aid to Israel. He was among the first House delegations to visit Israel following the attack. In December 2023, Miller and David Kustoff introduced a nonbinding resolution in the House that stated anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. In April 2024, Miller was instrumental in the House passage of a $95 billion foreign aid package that included $26 billion for Israel. Miller co-sponsored legislation to extend the benefits of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) to Americans serving in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). He has also introduced a resolution condemning the Biden administration’s decision to pause certain arms transfers to Israel. Miller referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as “a travesty and a humiliation to an illegitimate organization.”

In March 2025, a bipartisan group of U.S. House members led by Miller and Brad Schneider (D-IL), has sent a letter urging the Nobel Committee to award the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, an organization advocating for victims kidnapped by Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups, the Nobel Peace Prize. The letter highlights the forum’s efforts to raise awareness about the hostages’ plight, emphasizing their humanity and the ongoing suffering of their families. It praises the forum’s work in advocating for the hostages, pursuing justice, and supporting the families, stressing the importance of acknowledging the dignity of every life in the face of terror. Several other lawmakers have signed the letter and supported Schneider’s formal nomination of the forum for the honor earlier this year.

Miller is married and has one child.
