Eric Fingerhut

Eric Fingerhut is an American Jewish businessman, former congressman, and Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents, which leads Ohio’s system of public universities and colleges.
Born in University Heights, Ohio, Fingerhut earned his B.S. degree from Northwestern University in Illinois in 1981 and his J.D. from Stanford University in California in 1984. He practiced law at Hahn Loeser &Parks LLP in Cleveland and later managed Cleveland’s mayoral candidate Michael White’s campaign.
From 1991 to 1993, Fingerhut served as an Ohio state senator, and in 1992 was elected to represent Ohio’s 19th district in Congress. During his time in Congress, he co-sponsored four bills in support of Israel.
In 2013, Fingerhut was appointed to President and CEO of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life.
Eric is married to Amy Fingerhut and the couple has two sons, Sam and Charlie.
