Six-Day War: Government of Israel Decision to Act

(June 4, 1967)

On Sunday, 4 June, the Government of Israel, now expanded to include Ministers Dayan, Begin and Sapir, authorized the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence to take the necessary measures to defend Israel.  The release read simply the Government authorizes the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence to take steps necessary for the protection of Israel.
