Leonard Farbstein

Leonard Farbstein was a Jewish American politician and member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Farbstein (born October 12, 1902; died November 9, 1993) was born in New York City. He studied at the City College of New York and the Hebrew Union Teachers College before graduating from New York University Law School in 1924. He was admitted to the bar in 1925 and commenced the practice of law in New York City. During World War I, Farbstein served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve.
From 1932 to 1956, Farbstein served as an elected member of the New York State assembly. In November 1956, he was elected as a Democrat to the U.S. House of Representatives. Farbstein was subsequently re-elected six times and served until January 1971.
Farbstein died on November 9, 1993, in New York City
