CHAROUSEK, RUDOLPHCHAROUSEK, RUDOLPH (1832–1899), Hungarian chess master. Charousek shared first place with Tchigorin (Budapest, 1896) and was regarded as a most dangerous potential challenger to Emanuel *Lasker. His games are instructive and suggest modern developments.
