Jamal Mansour

(1960 - 2001)

Jamal Abdel Rahman Mansour was a political leader of Hamas.

Mansour was born in the Balata camp near Nablus on February 25, 1960. He held a bachelors degree in accounting and business administration.

Mansour served as a Hamas spokesman in the West Bank and was also the spokesperson of the Hamas delegation to the dialogue with the Palestinian Authority. He was arrested by Israel eight times and arrested by the Palestinian Authority several times.

In July 2001, Mansour was killed when targeted by the Israel Defense Forces in Nablus.
