Alexsander Gierymski

(1850-1901)

Alexsander Gierymski was a Jewish Polish painter.

He studied at the Secondary State School in Warsaw and the Academy of fine Arts in Munich, where he graduated with a gold medal.

He lived and painted in Rome and Paris during his long career. Among his works are: Jewish women selling lemons (1881), Jewess with Oranges (1881), Twilight over Seine (1892-1895) and Peasant's Coffin (1894-1895).
