Roei Yellin

Roei Yellin was born in Israel on Sept. 11, 1981.

Yellin and partner Rami Zur placed 13th in the K2 500 meter race at the 1999 World Championships, and finished sixth in both the K2 200-meter and K2 500-meter race at the 1999 European Championships.

A member of the Israeli kayaking team at the 2000 Sydney Games, Yellin competed in two events with partner Rami Zur. They advanced to the semifinals in both races, finishing eighth in their K2 500-meter (1:34.241) heat, and seventh in their K2 1000-meter (3:22.634) heat; they officially placed 15th in both events.

In 2002, Yellin finished in second place in the 1000-meter race at the International Regatta. He then finished in fourth place in the 1000-meter race at the 2002 World Championships. In 2003 he finished 8th in the World Championship in Atlanta.

Roei raced in heat 2 of the K1 1000-meter kayak event, in the 2004 Athens Games on August 23. He placed third (3:34.036) in the heat, with the 14th best time overall, and qualified for the semifinals. Roei opened the semis poorly and was back in fifth place at the halfway mark, but a fierce finish saw him take third place (3:30.005) and qualify for the finals. On August 27, Yellin raced in the K1 1000-meter final and finished 9th (3:43.485).
