David Azulai

(1954 - )

David Azulai is an Israeli politician.

Azulai (born May 5, 1954) was born in Morocco and immigrated to Israel in 1963. He served in the IDF and studied at the Beit Harishon L'Zion Talmudic College and the Chazon Yehezkiel Seminar for teachers.

Azulai has been a Member of Knesset since 1996. He has been a member of the Knesset Education and Culture, Internal Affairs and Environment, Anti-Drug Abuse, and Ethics Committees.

He previously served as a member of the Akko Municipal Council and as Head of the Nahal Iron Regional Council.

In May 2001, David Azulai was appointed Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare.

Azulai will serve as the Minister of Religious Affairs in Israel's 34th government, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.

He is married and has four children.
