Experience Counts: Introduction

The U.S.-Israel relationship is based on the twin pillars of shared values and mutual interests. Given this commonality of interests and beliefs, it should not be surprising that support for Israel is one of the most pronounced and consistent foreign policy values of the American people.

America has serious domestic problems that need to be addressed. The American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise (AICE) was created because we believe Israeli experience may be useful in ameliorating some of these. Working together, new approaches to social, environmental and health problems may be developed to benefit both nations.

Our first study, Partners for Change: How U.S.-Israel Cooperation Can Benefit America, documented the broad range of existing Shared Value Initiatives, that have helped both nations improve the quality of life for their citizens. It also offered examples of how greater cooperation could further benefit both nations.

In this study, we look in-depth at Israeli innovations in care for the elderly that can benefit Americans. We believe the programs described here offer valuable lessons and examples for American policymakers and professionals, and it is our hop they will be examined and considered for adoption here AICE stands willing to help.

In forthcoming studies we will show how Israeli innovations in education, biotechnology, promoting coexistence and health care can also benefit Americans. AICE is dedicated to strengthening the historic U.S.-Israel alliance and we believe these studies will contribute toward this goal by showing how our nations can unite to create a better future for their citizens.
