UN Says More Arabs Than Jews in Israel and Territories by 2050

Palestinians will outnumber Israelis in Israel and the territories by the year 2050, according to a  United Nations  report.

There are more than six million Israelis and some 3.2 million Palestinians residing in Israel and the territories today, according to the report. The Israeli population will grow to 7.7 million by 2015 and 8.5 by 2025. By the year 2050, the Palestinian population will exceed 11.8 million and the Israeli 10.1 million due to natural population growth, the report said.

The current Palestinian birthrate is more than double the Israel rate with an expected 5.6 children being born to Palestinian mothers versus 2.7 babies born to Israeli mothers. By 2050, however, the birthrate is forecast to be equal for both (2.1).
