Eddie Gottlieb
(1898-1979)
Edward Gottlieb was the first coach and manager of the Philadelphia Warriors in the NBA. He later owned and coached the team from in 1951 and sold it to San Francisco in 1962. The Kiev, Ukraine native was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1972. The NBA Rookie of the Year trophy is named after Gottlieb.
