Anna Held
(1873–1918)
HELD, ANNA (1873–1918), French actress. Born in Paris, Anna Held made her debut at the Folies Manguay, Paris, in 1895, and soon afterward was engaged by Florenz Ziegfeld for his first New York production. Later the two were married and she appeared in many plays, including Jean Richepin's Mam'selle Napoleon (1903). She toured the U.S. in 1903 in the title role of The Little Duchess.
