Bruno Winawer

WINAWER, BRUNO (1883–1944), Polish playwright and novelist. A Warsaw physicist, Winawer wrote many successful comedies in the style of G.B. Shaw. His belief that technical progress was the basis for social and political change found expression in his novels and in plays such as Roztwór profesora Pytla ("Professor Pytel's Chemical Solution," 1919) and R.H. Inżynier ("R.H., the Engineer," 1923).
