Suzanne° Rutland

RUTLAND, SUZANNE° (1946– ), Australian historian. Probably the first academic historian to write on Australian Jewish history, Sydney-born Suzanne Rutland was the author of one of the first modern accounts of the Jews in Australia, Edge of the Diaspora (1988), and a history of the Jewish press in Australia, Pages of History (1970; 19952), as well as other works in this field. She taught at the University of New South Wales and was the editor of the Sydney edition of The Australian Jewish Historical Society Journal.
