Henrik Lenkei

LENKEI, HENRIK (1863–1943), Hungarian poet and playwright. Lenkei, who was secretary of IMIT, the Hungarian Jewish Literary Society, was a talented poet, his verse collections including Új versek ("New Poems," 1904) and Utolsó roham ("Last Attack," 1933). Among his other works were the drama A nagy előjáték ("The Great Prelude," 1926); Kain halála ("The Death of Cain," 1899); Az én hőseim ("My Heroes," 1910), poetic vignettes of great artists and writers; and Ruth (1915).
