Julius Florus

Julius Florus (second century C.E.) was the author of an abridged Roman history. He mentions Pompey’s capture of Jerusalem and his involvement in Jewish affairs in 63 B.C.E. He says that Pompey entered the Temple and (if the text is correct) saw there the image of an ass (Epitomae, 1:40, 30).
