Jesurun (Jessurun), Isaac ben Abraham Ḥayyim

JESURUN (Jessurun), ISAAC BEN ABRAHAM ḤAYYIM (d. 1655), ḥakham of the Portuguese community of Hamburg, Germany. His Panim Ḥadashot (Venice, 1651) deals with halakhic rulings following Joseph *Caro, and provides a detailed guide to halakhot in the Mishnah and the Talmud, and the rulings of the posekim. His Livro da Providência Divina ("Book on Divine Providence") appeared in Amsterdam in 1663. He published or edited Sefer ha-Zikhronot attributed to Samuel Aboab (Steinschneider, Cat Bod, 1128).
