Brandeis University Postdoctoral Fellowships in Israel Studies

(2009-2010)


The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University announces postdoctoral fellowships available for 2009-2010.
 
The successful candidate will teach one course per semester in Israel Studies, related to programs in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, Israeli arts and culture, politics and law, sociology, or other relevant disciplines. A PhD dissertation must be submitted by the time of the proposal.

The fellow will be expected to be in residence at Brandeis, to participate actively in the intellectual life of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies, and to present at least one public lecture. There may be also an opportunity for participation in the Brandeis University Summer Institute for Israel Studies.

The annual stipend will be $50,000 and is benefits eligible. The fellowship may be renewable for a second year.

Candidates should send a cover letter, CV, project proposal, two letters of recommendation, and a list and description of proposed courses to the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies, MS 060, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA 02454. Priority will be given to applications received by December 1, 2008.
