Daniel Hamburg is a Jewish American politician who formerly served in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Hamburg (born October 6, 1948) was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from Stanford University in 1970. He earned a master's degree in 1992 from the California Institute for Integral Studies.
From 1976 to 1980, Hamburg served on the city planning commission for Ukiah, California. From 1981 to 1985, he served on the Mendocino Country Board of Supervisors.
In 1992, Hamburg was elected to Congress and while serving was named as one of People magazine's "sexiest people on the Hill" and "50 Most Beautiful People" for 1993. Hamburg lost in his first and only re-election campaign in 1994.
In 1998, Hamburg ran for California governor and received 1.3% of the total vote.
In November 2010, Hamburg was elected for a second time to sit on the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors.
