Asher Ohana

(1945- )

Asher Ohana was born in Morocco in 1945. Ohana has been a member of the Beit Shemesh Local Council, Director-General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (1997-1998), Secretary-General of Shas (since 1999) and Director-General of the Shas Education Network (2001-2001).

In March 2001, Asher Ohana was appointed Minister of Religious Affairs.

He is married and has six children.
