Frank Lautenberg
(1924 - )Frank Raleigh Lautenberg was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1924. He attended Columbia University School of Business. After graduation he served in the United States Army Signal Corps from 1942-1946. Lautenberg was a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 1978-1982. He was elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate in 1982 and later appointed by the Governor to complete Nicholas F. Brady's term. He was reelected in 1988 and then decided not to run in 2000. In 2002, he was elected to for the term ending January 3, 2009. Source: Biographical Directory of the United States Congress.
