Ya'akov Frenkel
( - )Ya'akov Frenkel holds a BA in economics and political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an MA and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.
Yaakov Frenkel is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS), a Research Associate of the US-based National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and an Honorary President of the Israel Association of Graduates in the Social Sciences and Humanities. In addition, Governor Frenkel is an honorary member of the Scientific Committee of the Bank of France's Research Center, a member of the Executive Committee of Britain's Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and of the Advisory Committee of Korea's Institute for Global Economics (IGE). He has been editor of the Journal of Political Economy, and a member of the editorial board of several economic journals, including the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Economic Perspectives and the American Economic Review. Over the years Frenkel has been awarded numerous research grants and fellowships to study a range of economic issues, mainly in the areas of exchange rates and international macroeconomics, and has published fifteen books and over 250 scientific articles.
