Jeffrey Berkowitz

Jeffrey Berkowitz was the fourth White House liaison to the Jewish community from 2005-2006. Berkowitz replaced Noam Neusner, who held the liaison position for a year and then served as spokesman for the Office of Management and Budget. He previously had positions with the Republican National Committee, and served briefly as the press secretary for the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Berkowitz is a Reform Jew, which was surprising to many in the Jewish community given the broad support Bush receives from the religiously observant Jewish movements. He is a graduate of American University, and was active in both Hillel and Alpha Epsilon Pi, the international Jewish fraternity.
