Yari Allnut

(1970 - )

Allnut was an All-American at the University of Portland and finished his college career as the Pilots' second-leading career goal-scorer. A striker and midfielder, Allnut was a member of the U.S. Olympic soccer team at the 1992 Barcelona Games. He played in all three contests in the preliminary round as the U.S. lost to Italy (2-1), defeated Kuwait (3-1), and drew with Poland (2-2). The U.S. finished in third place in the group and did not qualify for the medal round. Allnut did not score in the Olympics.

After his Olympic experience, Allnut earned five international caps (appearances) and scored two goals as a National Team member in 1993 and 1994. During that time, Yari played in the Mexican Second Division before playing in the A-League for the Carolina Dynamo, and the Rochester Raging Rhinos. A four-time A-League All-Star, Allnut was selected in the fourth round of the 2001 MLS (Major League Soccer) SuperDraft by the New England Revolution, but did not play in the MLS.
