Most Wanted Terrorists - Status Report

In December 2001, Israel presented U.S. peace envoy Anthony Zinni with a list of 33 most wanted terrorists, requesting their arrest by the Palestinian Authority. The list was subsequently given by Zinni to the Palestinians.

Fourteen of these most wanted terroristswere arrested by Israel during Operation Defensive Shield:


Ibrahim Mahmoud Roub of Ramallah - Hamas
Nasser Aweis of Nablus - Tanzim
Abd el Karim Aweis of Jenin - Tanzim
Salim Haja of Burka - Hamas
Muhammed Abu Toul of Jenin - Tanzim
Billal Ya'akoub Ahmed Dar Othman / Barguti of Beit Rima - Hamas
Sharif Muhammed Yousouf Naji of the Amri Refugee Camp - Tanzim
Ahmad Abd Al Karim Ali Abu Taha of Ramallah - Hamas
Shadi Muhamad Ahmad Shurfa of Beit Hanina - Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)
Zafer A'a - Juad A - Rahman Rimawi of Beit Rima - Tanzim
William Samih Fares Khatib of Beit Rima
Ali Suliman Said Al-Sa'adi Zafuri of Jenin - Islamic Jihad
Tabeth Azmi Suliman Mardawi of Jenin - Islamic Jihad
Jamal Matstafa Isa Ahwil of Jenin - Tanzim
