Arafat Terror Group Tries to Kill Sharon

Terrorists from Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement admitted they attempted to kill Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The Al-Aksa Brigade issued a leaflet on November 26, 2001, confirming that they tried to kill Sharon outside his home in Jerusalem. The group said a five-member hit squad staked out a residence Sharon rarely uses in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City with the intent of ambushing him. Israeli security agents caught three of the five men, who are now awaiting trial. The group said it remains committed to assassinating Sharon.
