Nazi War Crimes Trials: Velpke Trial

(March - April 1946)

A group of ex-officials of the Velpke children's home, were convicted in Case No.42 (The "Velpke" Trial), before a British military court in Brunswick, from the March 20, 1946 to April 3, 1946. One died during the trial, and three were acquitted. Four were found guilty and two were executed, the remainder were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.

Dr Richard Demmerich : 10 Years Imprisonment
Werner Noth : Acquitted & Released
Georg Hessling : The Death Sentence (Executed on the 20th March 1946)
Valentina Bilien : 15 Years Imprisonment
Fritz Flint : (Died during the Trial)
Hermann Müller : Acquitted & Released
Gustav Claus : Acquitted & Released
