Holocaust: Cabinet Meeting Disscusses Jews in Germany

(April 12, 1933)

The British cabinet discusses whether to publicize a report from the British ambassador in Berlin discussing the persecution of Jews. They decide not to do so. The cabinet also considers a request from British Jews to relax immigration restrictions to allow German Jewish refugees to enter Britain. The recommendation is not to change existing policy. On the other hand, there is an interest in allowing prominent Jews in science, medicine, art and other fields to enter Britain. (Relevant sections only included here)
