The following graph shows that Israel's national expenditure on education - in billions of shekels per year - has more than doubled since 1990 and nearly tripled from 1975, when spending was at only 19.4 billion shekels.

The expenditure on education in 2011 represented 8.4% of the Israeli GDP, up from 7.9% in 1990.
